What Happens If An Update Breaks My Site?

Most updates are performed utilizing “Safe Updates” with rollback protection to minimize the chance of site downtime or breakage. This is a feature of the maintenance tool I utilize.

Here’s how a failed update might proceed:

• If an update causes a conflict or error, the "Safe Updates" feature will automatically restore the previous version.

• If, for some reason, "Safe Updates" fails, I will personally troubleshoot the issue and, if needed, roll the plugin or site back using your latest backup.

NOTE: I will often test large plugin or WordPress core updates in a staging environment when possible, especially for complex or high-traffic sites.
