Is My Browser Data Safe? What About My Privacy?

Your privacy is a top priority. Here's how the extension handles data:
- Targeted Analysis: The extension only attempts to fetch and analyze content from websites that appear in your Google Search results when a scan is actively triggered by you being on that page. It does not passively track your Browse history across all websites you visit.
- Minimal Data Fetched: For CMS detection, it only needs to retrieve a portion of the website's HTML source code – just enough to look for specific CMS signatures.
- No Personal Information: The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) from you or the websites it analyzes.
- Local Storage for Settings: Your preferences for the extension (like which CMS to detect) are stored locally in your browser.
- Permissions: The extension requests certain permissions during installation (like access to "https://google.com/search?q=google.com/search?*" and <all_urls>). The <all_urls> permission is necessary because websites listed in Google search results can be from any domain, and the extension needs to be able to fetch content from these diverse URLs to analyze them. This permission is used strictly for this purpose.
