Why Does the Extension Sometimes Show "Failed to fetch," "Network Issue," or Other Errors?

These messages typically indicate that the extension was unable to access the content of a website listed in your search results. This is usually not an error with the extension itself, but rather an issue with reaching the target website. Common reasons include:

  • Site is Down/Unavailable: The website might be temporarily offline or experiencing technical difficulties.
  • Your Network Connection: There might be an issue with your internet connection preventing access to the site.
  • Very Slow Website: If a website is extremely slow to load, the request might time out before the extension can analyze it.
  • Website Security/Firewall: Some websites have strict security measures (like firewalls or anti-bot systems, including restrictive CORS policies) that can block automated access, even for a simple content fetch.
  • Invalid URL: In rare cases, a link in the search results might be malformed or no longer valid.

The extension displays these messages to let you know it attempted to scan the site but couldn't retrieve the necessary information for CMS detection. The label next to the search result will usually indicate this, so you're aware of which sites couldn't be analyzed.
